Katrin Weber was born and raised in Tuttlingen, a small town located near Lake of Constance in Southern Germany. She had the good fortune to be the daughter of an avid jazz fan. She has a childhood memory of her father whistling Charlie Parker's "Ornithology" which caught her highly tuned ear. When she was a teenager, her enthusiasm for jazz was boosted when she attended house concerts organized by friends in her locality and heard such eminent musicians as Woody Shaw, Johnny Griffin and Baden Powell.

Katrin moved to Austria in 1989, where her formal education (from 1989 to 1996) included studies at the prestigious Bruckner University in Linz and the Hochschule für Musik in Graz. At Graz she took some lessons with Andy Bey.
She finished her studies with a degree in Composition and instrumental and vocal pedagogic methods for Jazz and Pop music.

Since 1995 she has been living in Vienna, Austria working professionally as a singer, composer and piano player.
As a singer she worked in many different line-ups working as a vocalist fronting jazz bands and touring. Internationally she has worked with distinguished musicians like Benny Golson, Kirk Lightsey, Mike Hennessey, the Ensemble Pro Brass and the German Jazz project "Stella".
Katrin has also been the leader of her own bands, such as "The Katrin Weber Trio" and "Weber+Kirberg" showcasing her songwriting and vocal skills.

Her recorded works include the following:

"Pullover" und "Comprende" recorded by Shy
"Who can I turn to?" recorded by Stella
"...Taste it!" recorded by Verve Extract
"Mrs. Wisenheimer" recorded by Katrin Weber Trio
"The Girl at the Bar" recorded by Weber+Kirberg

She is a member of the music cabaret company based in Linz " Die Niederträchtigen" (the closest translation would be "The Mean Ones"), which was founded in 1993.

Her arrangements and compositions have been played at the Theater in der Josefstadt Wien; Theater der Jugend Wien; Landestheater Linz; Theater Spektakulum Wilhering; Tonkünstlerfestival Baden-Württemberg and others.
Katrin's composing and arranging skills have been sought for more and more as time passes.

Katrin has been working as a vocal teacher since 1995 at the Vienna Konservatorium. Since 2001 she has worked at the Landesmusikschulwerk Oberösterreich with a position at the music school in Neuhofen.
